Ngamo Lions Soccer Academy
Ngamo is a small rural village located near the edge of Hwange National Park, in Matabeleland North Province, Zimbabwe. It sits within the Tsholotsho District, serving several nearby communities including Ngamana, Vozheka, and others.
Founded in January 2017 by Vusumzi “Vusa” Ncube, a native of Ngamo who previously aspired to a sporting career but lacked exposure.
Initially only serving about 80 boys aged 6–12, it aimed to instill a love for football and develop technical, creative playing skills.

Attending matches draws villagers together in a shared, joyful experience that strengthens social bonds and builds a strong sense of belonging. The supportive energy from local fans creates a motivating environment for players, coaches, and volunteers, showing that the whole community is invested in their success.
This visible grassroots support also helps attract partners, sponsors, and funding, which can lead to better facilities, expanded programs, and more opportunities for young athletes.
The fans on the bleachers are a lively, tightly knit group—villagers of all ages who gather not just to watch a match, but to celebrate community. Their cheering, laughter, and conversation create a warm and encouraging atmosphere. They embody pride, unity, and hope, turning each game into a communal event that reflects the spirit and identity of Ngamo.
